Director of Customer Data & CRM
Abcam is searching for an enthusiastic and experienced Director of Data to help the business unlock the full value of its customer data and CRM platforms.
The Director of Customer Data & CRM will own and shape Abcam’s customer data strategy so that the business can unlock full value from this critical growth engine. You will:
Shape and build consensus around the data vision, strategy and roadmap
Lead work to define our customer data model and the roll out of this model across the business working closely with IT and other business functions
Create single sources of truth that can power enhanced digital, sales, service and marketing-led customer experiences and drive business growth
Oversee the growth in the value of our data and support users of data (e.g. digital users; data scientists; analysts; business users)
- Provide data governance and improve data quality
Own the product strategy and roadmap for our Sales, Marketing and Service suite of applications which are used by hundreds of internal staff globally, ensuring these products meet Abcam’s commercial needs and deliver experiences that delight our internal and external customers
The role will report to the VP Digital Experience and is a key part of shaping the future of our CX vision and strategy by providing best in class experiences through our technology platforms. You will manage a team of 4.
Proven experience of delivering business value through the strategic and innovative use of data
Degree-educated with min. 8 years’ experience working in digital environments (ideally with a data science, data engineering, business intelligence or analytics background)
An understanding of the data domain, including data governance, data architecture, data modelling, data engineering, data delivery, and the role of data to enable analytics, reporting and business intelligence
Experience of CRM systems (preferably the Oracle suite including Eloqua, Sales and Service clouds)
A proven leader comfortable building, coaching and managing high-performing teams - both direct and virtual
A strong communicator, able to effectively influence across all levels within the organisation
Comfortable working across a business to gather requirements and creating compelling business cases for new features and functionality
A strong bias to action, working iteratively to deliver results
